The Mesa/Boogie Triple Rectifier is the big boy in the Rectifier series. It contains all the features of the standard Dual Rectifier, except this has 150 watts of bone crushing power and another rectifier tube for a total of three rectifier tubes. Aside from that, the rest of the amp has all the same features as the Dual Rectifier.

UTILIZATION

The Mesa/Boogie EQ is fairly finicky, so if you're not used to it, it can take awhile to get a good tone. Thankfully, Mesa/Boogie has some of the best manuals in the business. They explain the controls nicely, show you the sweet spots and how to EQ everything. The amp is extremely reliable, and there should really be no issues with touring. The biggest issue in this amp is the loop. It won't go completely series, so there can be some phasing issues with certain effects. If your effects processor has a killdry, that will help fix this issue for the most part.

SOUNDS

The sound of this thing is HUGE. 150 watts of 6L6 tubes is something you need to hear to really experience. However, this amp needs some ridiculous volume to reach its full potential. Because of that, it's not a great bedroom amp. I personally boost all my rectos as that helps make them tight and more precise for those technical riffs. The amp is geared towards metal, but it can do some other styles decently. If you're looking for more clean and midgain tones, try looking into the Trem-o-verb instead.

OVERALL OPINION

If you need absolute bone crushing power, this amp will probably be for you. There are some flaws like the effects loop and the ridiculous amount of volume needed to really get this amp to roar, but once it's up to volume, it really just destroys any small mammals within a three mile radius.
