I've owned a few of these over the years and I wouldn't hesitate for a second to buy another if anything happened to this one. It's very solid built, looks and sounds great, and is a pedal that always stays in my chain regardless of what kind of music I'm playing. I'd recommend it to anyone playing jazz, blues, all the way to rock and metal.
This is a collector guitar, for sure. The unfortunate thing is that this is a guitar with collector pricing as well. I generally try to rate on the scale of 1-10 all relative to price. I'm not doing that on this guitar, since I think it is much too expensive for what it is - the originals could be bought for a 5th of the asking price of this one...
All in all, a very good instrument. At this price, these pickups should have been Dimarzios or EMGs or similar. But this is still a good guitar. Anyone that needs their fix of low-tuned chugging and polyrhythmic djenting will dig this axe, big time. Play it if you like experimental or extreme metal.
This guitar can be had for $550 new. That is just a steal and a half. I don't understand how they can make so much guitar for so little money! There is something about an Ibanez semi-hollow guitar that just works! They've been making incredible semis since at least the 70s, with giants like Scofield, Metheny, and Benson playing their guitars exc...
I'm glad Ibanez is putting out some bold new shapes to see what sticks. I could see this new Halberd design as being a classic shape that could be used again in many different incarnations, including a more subdued instrument for more classic rock folks, something like a Halberd shape with more of an Iceman influence on the rest of the aesthetic...
Pickups aside, this is still a nice instrument. A pickup trade would be in order, but that's the only downside on this guitar. They did make this guitar in some other colors that the 7621 didn't have, such as this grey nickel and the nice magenta Vampire Kiss - those are the more desirable ones, since seemingly everybody has a black Ibanez or t...
I like it because it's simple and of course easy to use. The flange effect itself is generally used sparingly and I think it sounds great for cleans to add extra spacey or texture to what you're playing. Otherwise it wouldn't be used quite as often as other effects. I've been told the maxon version sounds better and sucks less tone but that's c...
I love the S series guitars. I think it's the best shaped guitar created since buttered-bread. They're thin, and comfortable on the body and comfortable to get up to the upper frets. I DO wish they had fixed bridge versions of the S like back in the early 90s or so cause not everybody's in the whammy thing and I'm getting way too used to blockin...
These guitars are quite easily accessible and Ibanez does have a vast array of different model sizes and series. If you can't find one guitar from Ibanez you surely can find another that will almost fit the bill for whatever you're looking for. They do have quite a few different models and series but all of them really have the same feel and ton...
Its pretty crazy that Ibanez can make a guitar like this and sell it so cheaply but their Prestige models that cost twice as much come with pickups that sound like they should be in 100 dollar guitars. This guitar with its comfortable body and its solid bridge make it a really solid metal guitar and it is a bit cheaper than the comparable guitar...
